One thing rFactor2 does well and that is not available in rFactor1 (unless by bying a software more expensive than rFactor2 and by tweaking the game and the software and I haven't found a proof it is really possible) : VR. You could think it's not looking much better than rFactor1, because you always have better memories than the reality, but if you launch rFactor1 after having played rFactor2, it's obvious the second iteration looks better. I think it's really ok, not ugly, and it looks much better than rFactor1 if you have the PC to run it smoothly. If you are looking for the "wow factor" by launching a current sim, with great graphics and presentation, rFactor2 is not the best sim on the market. race report by matthew overton images by jerry chen broadcast by ross tnadz smith another beautiful week and another weekend of off-and-on-again weather that is so typical of europe in the spring.

I hope the work of Reiza on the next DLC will make Studio397 finalized a finished version of the game in terms of physics. That's a real problem that you indeed did not have with the 1st rFactor.
RFACTOR 2 DIRT LATE MODEL MODS
The main issue with rFactor2 is that, the sim still being in development, mods can become obsolete when a new version of the program is out. But you should be, this is a huge huge step up, the physics and the FFB are a lot better, there is weather management. Here is the link for Dirt Late Model MOD. And if you haven't changed your mind I assume you can't be a lot interested in rFactor2 indeed. Woo Dirt Late Models Knoxville oval rFactor 2 Nascar ShortTrackSims. So if you were not interested before in GTR2 or it's sequels Race07, GTR-Evo, you were not interested in having a much more polished product with a true offline racing experience and the rain (no offense here, I really understand that someone feels at home with rFactor, making mainly online races, rFactor's main purpose, and not bothered by having to adjust the settings of the wheel and the sim regularly). The only things rFactor did better than other sims were the Dirt mods (because modders did not make them for other sims except Nascar 2003, which AI seems to be much better than rFactor in the Dirt Mod). Was wondering if people could leave some comments because the tire does not act properly on the dirt track. RFACTOR 2 DIRT LATE MODEL MOD
At its time GTR2 was more refined, with customed chamiponship, weather management, excellent FFB without any tweaking, excellent AI (still better or eaqual to the AI of most of the current sims) and great base content and great mods. Looking to start an rfactor 2 Dirt Late Model Mod but am having a little trouble with the tire (tyre) model. I've never enjoyed rFactor that much, the FFB was awful, you had to tweak the realfeel settings (which with some mods just reversed the FFB effects or/and was making the wheel insanely strong before accelerating).
